Treatments

Electrotherapy is the use of therapies such as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and interferential therapy which reduce pain by stimulating nerve fibres that inhibit pain receptors. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) creates muscular contractions, which is useful to prevent muscle wasting in people unable to use their muscles such as stroke patients. LASER therapy delivers light energy to injuries which enhances tissue repair, whereas shockwave therapy uses sound wave energy and is great for treating chronic tendinopathy.
